ServiceSeeking for Roofers: How It Works and What It Costs

How ServiceSeeking works for Australian roofers in 2026, what a membership costs, how it differs from pay-per-lead apps, and how to tell whether it's paying off.

ServiceSeeking is an Australian job marketplace where tradies pay a monthly membership and can quote on jobs without paying per lead or commission. That's the main difference from credit-based apps. You know your cost each month, and the job is yours to win on price, speed and trust. The catch is that each posted job goes to several businesses, so the roofer who replies first and quotes clearly usually has the edge.

This page explains how ServiceSeeking works for a roofing business as of October 2026 and how to work out whether a membership is worth it for you.

How does ServiceSeeking work for roofers?

A homeowner posts a job: a leaking roof, gutters, a restoration quote. ServiceSeeking sends it to registered businesses who cover that trade and area. Members can then contact the customer and send a quote through the platform.

ServiceSeeking's own business page describes the model as "Monthly Memberships with unlimited quotes. No pay per lead or commissions" (ServiceSeeking: list your business). It also says it sent local businesses 182,711 job leads worth $26.8 million in the last 12 months. That figure covers every trade, not just roofing, so treat it as a sign of overall activity rather than roofing demand.

There are two levels of being on the platform:

  • Free listing. ServiceSeeking says a free business is "published in the public directory", but "you can't contact customers directly, which limits your ability to win jobs" (ServiceSeeking tradie guide).
  • Paid membership. Paid members get "access to exclusive leads and the ability to bid on jobs", according to the same guide. Higher tiers add wider coverage or more categories, and there are add-ons such as a booking feature, a trade credentials check and business analytics.

ServiceSeeking also says tradies with an Australian Business Number (ABN) are prioritised, so make sure yours is on your profile.

How much does ServiceSeeking cost?

ServiceSeeking doesn't publish a single price list on its public pages. You see your price when you sign up, and it depends on your trade and area.

An independent review, checked in August 2026 and citing ServiceSeeking's own June 2025 membership price update, reports:

  • Memberships from $129 a month, including GST for most members
  • Roughly 20% off for paying quarterly and 40% off for paying annually, compared with month-to-month
  • Coverage tiers called Standard, Plus and Pro, covering roughly 10 km, 20 km and 50 km from your base

How do you work out if ServiceSeeking is paying off?

Because the fee is fixed, the maths is simpler than with credits. Divide what you pay by the jobs you actually win from the platform.

Example (made-up numbers to show the method):

Working out cost per job won (example)

The jobs-won column is the only one that matters. Quotes sent tells you how busy you were, not how well it worked. If you also track the value of each job, you can see whether a $129 month turned into a $900 repair or an $8,000 restoration.

If you want to compare it directly against the biggest marketplace, read hipages vs ServiceSeeking.

Before you sign, also check how the membership renews, the notice you need to give to cancel, and whether a discounted quarterly or annual price locks you in for that whole period. A fixed cost is only good value if you can stop paying when it isn't working.

Who ServiceSeeking suits, and who it doesn't

It can suit:

  • Newer roofing businesses that need enquiries while their Google presence builds
  • Roofers who like a fixed monthly cost they can budget for
  • Businesses that reply fast and quote the same day

It's less of a fit for:

  • Roofers already busy from referrals and Google Maps
  • Businesses that can't reply until the evening, because other businesses will get there first
  • Roofers who only want large restorations, if your area's jobs skew towards small repairs

How to win more jobs on ServiceSeeking

Most of what wins on any marketplace is the same as what wins anywhere: speed, clarity and proof.

  1. 1Finish your profile properlyAdd your ABN, licence, insurance, real job photos and a short description of the work you do and where.
  2. 2Reply within minutesA customer who posts a job is often talking to several businesses. The first clear reply sets the bar for the rest.
  3. 3Ask one useful questionRoof type, where the leak shows, how old the roof is. It shows you know the job and starts a conversation.
  4. 4Quote clearlyScope, inclusions, exclusions, price and how long the quote stands. Short and readable on a phone.
  5. 5Follow upMost homeowners don't decide the day they get a quote. A polite follow-up over the next few weeks is where many jobs are won.

Our quote follow-up guide has a 21-day message plan you can copy.

Where LeadKites fits

LeadKites isn't a marketplace and we don't sell leads. We answer every enquiry within 60 seconds, wherever it comes from (ServiceSeeking, hipages, Google or your website), book inspections and follow up quotes so they don't go cold. We sell that service, so we have a stake in this comparison. If you're paying for a membership and not sure it's working, a free lead audit will show where enquiries are slipping.

Frequently asked questions

How much does ServiceSeeking cost for tradies?

ServiceSeeking doesn't publish one price list. An independent review checked in August 2026 reports memberships from $129 a month including GST for most members, with discounts of about 20% for quarterly and 40% for annual payment. Your price depends on your trade and area.

Does ServiceSeeking charge per lead?

No. ServiceSeeking describes its model as monthly memberships with unlimited quotes and no pay-per-lead fees or commissions.

Can I use ServiceSeeking for free?

You can have a free listing in ServiceSeeking's public directory, but ServiceSeeking says free businesses can't contact customers directly. To quote on jobs you need a paid membership.

Is ServiceSeeking better than hipages for roofers?

It depends on your area and how you work. ServiceSeeking charges a fixed monthly membership. hipages charges a monthly plan paid in lead credits, and up to three businesses can claim each lead. Compare the cost per job you actually win on each.

How many roofers get the same ServiceSeeking job?

ServiceSeeking doesn't publish a fixed number. Posted jobs go to multiple registered businesses, so expect competition and reply quickly.
