The main Oneflare alternatives for Australian roofers are hipages (subscription plus lead credits, shared leads), Airtasker (offers on tasks, commission on the job), and leads you own through Google Maps, your website and referrals. Oneflare closed on 30 June 2026. For larger roofing jobs, most roofers do best with one paid source to fill gaps and owned channels as the base.

Why did Oneflare close?
Airtasker, which bought Oneflare in 2022, retired the brand on 30 June 2026 to focus solely on Airtasker. The Oneflare site and app now redirect to Airtasker. The full story and dates are in what happened to Oneflare.
Option 1: hipages
hipages is now the largest dedicated tradie marketplace in Australia. Its FY26 results presentation reported 36,400 subscription businesses across Australia and New Zealand and said up to three businesses can claim each lead (hipages Group FY26 results, August 2026).
How it charges. As of October 2026, independent price tracking shows four core plans: Starter $139, Advanced $249, Premium $449 and Platinum $649 a month plus GST, each with a monthly allowance of lead credits. Those prices rose in July 2026 (PricingSaaS, July 2026). Each job shows its own credit price, so the real cost per lead varies by job and area. Full breakdown: hipages cost for roofers.
Watch for. Contract terms. In 2023 the ACCC accepted a court-enforceable undertaking from hipages after it admitted it likely failed to adequately disclose automatic renewal and early termination terms between 2018 and 2022 (ACCC, May 2023). Read the renewal and cancellation terms before you sign.
Option 2: Airtasker
This is where Oneflare's traffic now goes. Customers post a task and Taskers make offers. Airtasker says the Tasker service fee ranges from 11.9% to 20% (excluding GST), depending on your tier, and is taken when payment is released.
Good for: small, clearly scoped jobs: a few broken tiles, a gutter clean, a downpipe.
Harder for: large jobs that need an inspection and a written quote. A percentage fee grows with the job value. More detail in Airtasker for roofers.
Option 3: Google Business Profile and Google Maps
When someone searches "roof leak repair" plus a suburb, the map results appear near the top of the page. Nobody pays per click there and the caller chose you, not a list of three. Google says local ranking depends mainly on relevance, distance and prominence, and that reviews and complete information help.
Cost: free to set up. The real cost is time: photos, posts, reviews and replies, every month.
Watch for: it takes weeks to months to move up, not days. Start now even if you also use a marketplace. Our Google Business Profile guide for roofers lists the fixes in order.
Option 4: Your own website
A website does not create demand on its own, but it is where Google, past customers and referrals send people to check you out. A good roofing site has a clear phone number, a short booking form, your real job photos, and a page for each service you want work in.
Option 5: Referrals and past customers
The cheapest lead is a customer who already trusts you. Two things help: asking every happy customer for a Google review, and following up old quotes that went quiet. Many roofers have dozens of unanswered quotes sitting in their phone. Our guide on how to follow up roofing quotes has a simple five-message routine.

Check my real numbersOption 6: Google Search ads
Search ads put you at the top for searches you choose, and you pay per click. They work best when every call and form is answered fast, because a paid click that goes unanswered is money gone. They are not a replacement for the basics.
Who it suits / who it doesn't
A new roofer with an empty diary
- Probably suits
- hipages or Airtasker while you build Google reviews
- Probably doesn't
- Relying only on SEO, which takes months

- Probably suits
- Google Maps, website, referrals, quote follow-up
- Probably doesn't
- Commission-on-job platforms for big work
A roofer who misses a lot of calls

- Fixing answering first, then any lead source
- Probably doesn't
- Paying for more leads you can't answer
A roofer in a regional town
- Probably suits

Where LeadKites fits
LeadKites sells a lead system for Australian roofers, so we are one of the options here. We are not a marketplace and we don't sell shared leads. We answer every enquiry within 60 seconds, follow up every quote, and build your own channels on Google Maps and your website. Plans start with the $497 Quote Reactivation Sprint, which is refunded if it books zero inspections; ongoing plans are on the pricing page. We don't promise a number of leads or jobs. If you want help choosing, the free lead audit looks at your missed calls, Maps ranking and old quotes.
Frequently asked questions
What replaced Oneflare?
Airtasker. When Oneflare closed on 30 June 2026, its website and app began redirecting to Airtasker, which is owned by the same company.
Is hipages better than Oneflare was?
They are different models, and Oneflare no longer exists, so the useful question is whether hipages suits you now. It is a subscription with lead credits, and up to three businesses can claim each lead. It suits roofers who respond fast and want volume.
Can roofers use Airtasker?
Yes. Customers post tasks and roofers make offers. Airtasker takes a service fee of 11.9% to 20% (excl. GST) of the task price depending on your tier, which suits small jobs better than full roof replacements.
What is the cheapest way to get roofing leads?
Usually leads you already have: unanswered quotes, past customers and referrals. After that, a well-run Google Business Profile costs time rather than money. Paid sources make more sense once your answering and follow-up are fixed.
Does Google Guaranteed work for Australian roofers?
No. Google Local Services Ads, which show the "Google Guaranteed" badge, are not available in Australia. Use your Google Business Profile, your website and standard Google Search ads instead.
